Pudicitia fell in love with a mortal being. Love between the eternal and the finite often ends in tragedy. The Automions, too, shunned such relationships. But she chose—brief happiness.

The days spent together were short, yet felt like eternity. She knew human warmth, knew the pain of parting. And she promised: "When you pass, I shall go with you."

On the mortal's final day, she ceased her functions with a smile. They say she was happy beyond measure until the very end.
