Tower of Madness

Overview

A twisted tower rising from the perpetually mist-shrouded northern regions of the Fusion Continent. Its shape shifts depending on the angle of observation, and its internal structure is said to be in constant flux. Once an academy where seekers of knowledge gathered, it has become the domain of the mad mechanical nun Hilaritas Dementia.

Structure

The tower’s exterior forms a massive spiral, yet whether it turns clockwise or counter-clockwise differs for each observer.
The interior consists of countless rooms and corridors, though it is said none may walk the same path twice.
At the highest floor lies the “Chamber of Truth,” yet all who claim to have reached it tell different tales.

Inhabitant

The tower’s mistress is Hilaritas Dementia—a mechanical nun bearing starlit eyes and sharp fangs.
Her laughter echoes throughout the tower, and those who hear it are said to temporarily lose their sanity.
Yet some claim that within that madness lies true wisdom.

Phenomena

From a visitor’s journal:
“Within the tower, up becomes down, left becomes right. When I met Hilaritas, she was walking upon the ceiling.”

A scholar’s record:
“The spiral sigil is a symbol of chaos. Yet she laughs, saying even within chaos there is order.”

“I received her blessing. Whether it was salvation or curse, I still know not.”
