Temple of Fate
Overview
A circular temple at the heart of the Fusion Continent. A massive golden wheel of fate floats above, and at its center stands the chained mechanical saint Fortuna Catenata. Known as a place where visitors divine their fortunes, yet why she remains bound in chains is shrouded in mystery.
Structure
The temple forms a perfect circle, with a structure that descends spirally toward the center.
Countless gears are embedded in the walls, turning ceaselessly.
There is no ceiling—in the sky above floats the enormous wheel of fate.
The Wheel of Fate
A golden disc exceeding one hundred meters in diameter. Ancient letters are inscribed upon its surface, though none have deciphered them.
The wheel rotates irregularly, and with its movements, Fortuna Catenata’s position also shifts.
Visitors divine their fortunes by observing the wheel’s motion.
Visitors
From a fortune-teller’s record:
“When the wheel turns right, good fortune. When left, trials await. Yet she speaks nothing.”
From a traveler’s journal:
“When the blue jewel shines, they say wishes are granted. Yet none can approach her.”
A poet’s verse:
“Maiden of fate bound in chains—is she prisoner, or guardian?”
Mysteries
Why is she bound in chains? Who bound her?
What do the letters upon the wheel of fate signify?
Among those who have visited the temple, some claim to have seen her smile faintly.
